Ceramics UK Hosts Government Officials for Industry Insight
Ceramics UK welcomed high-level officials from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), Department for Business and Trade (DBT), and Ofgem for a series of engaging member site visits. The visits aimed to provide firsthand insights into the UK ceramics industry and discuss the impact of government policies on energy, greenhouse gas emissions, and innovation.
On Wednesday 4th December, officials had the opportunity to tour state-of-the-art facilities at MANTEC, Churchill China, and Ibstock Plc. These visits were a fantastic opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our sector and to work together to shape future policies that support our industry’s continued success.
Ceramics UK Policy Manager, Tim Chadwick, added “Many thanks to the 3 companies for allowing us to visit their sites. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and informative day for those attending. Engagement with officials, including such visits, is vital in ongoing dialogue and understanding. I look forward to further visits during 2025.”
