Ceramics UK Celebrates Excellence in Workplace Safety and Mental Health at Annual Pledge Awards and Conference

Ceramics UK, the trade association for the UK ceramics sector, recently hosted its annual Pledge Awards and Conference. Held on 14th October, at the Hilton DoubleTree in Stoke-on-Trent, the event brought together health and safety teams from across the sector to celebrate exceptional achievements in workplace safety and discuss the growing importance of mental health and wellbeing.

Recognising Commitment to Workplace Health & Safety

The Ceramics Sector Health and Safety Pledge is an industry-wide commitment to continuous improvement in workplace health and safety. This year's ceremony recognised a range of initiatives that have significantly enhanced standards within the ceramics sector.

“Now running for almost 25 years, the success of the sector’s Health and Safety Pledge Scheme is testament to the ethos of the sector and its commitment to working together and helping one another to raise standards and improve health and safety performance,” said Lauren Darby, Ceramics UK’s SHE Director.

Elevating Mental Health

Coinciding with World Mental Health Day, the 2024 conference focused on the crucial issue of mental health in the workplace. Featuring inspiring speakers from Ridgway Mental Health, Diverse Minds UK, Eversheds Sutherland, and keynote speaker Alex Staniforth, the conference provided valuable insights and practical strategies for promoting positive mental wellbeing among employees.
