Ceramics UK Voices Industry Challenges at Parliament

A successful parliamentary event hosted by Mr Gareth Snell, MP on behalf of Ceramics UK, provided members from across all areas of our foundation industry with a valuable opportunity to discuss critical issues with government representatives.

Over two hours, attendees spoke directly with the Industry Minister, as well as numerous MPs, including the Business Secretary’s Parliamentary Private Secretary.

Key topics included the impact of energy prices, carbon costs under the UK Emissions Trading Scheme, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, the risk of offshoring, unfair imports, and the Autumn Budget.

Ceramics UK Chief Executive Rob Flello commented, “The Minister was clearly listening carefully but also already aware of the needs of our industry. We will continue to engage with her on possible solutions to the challenges we face”.
