Pledge Awards and Conference

For more than 20 years, the ceramic sector has been coming together to recognise and celebrate health and safety leadership, continual improvement and good practice at the annual Pledge Conference and Awards.

Join us on 10th October 2024 as we focus on mental health and wellbeing, featuring insightful speakers who will share their diverse knowledge and expertise.

Pledge Award Categories:

Company Health and Safety Category Award

The Company Category Award recognises company initiatives, large or small, that drive health and safety improvement in the sector.

Individual Recognition Award

The Individual Recognition Award celebrates the efforts made by individual team members. Individuals can be nominated in recognition of their commitment, enthusiasm, and efforts to improve health and safety performance at the company.

Emerging Talent in Health & Safety Award

The Emerging Talent in Health and Safety Award is to recognise an individual’s outstanding commitment and contribution to health and safety within the ceramics sector and is intended for individuals who are early in their health and safety career.  It is a competitive award and the intention is to present one award ‘winner’.

Contractor Award

The Contractor Award provides the opportunity to recognise contractors for their efforts on health and safety whilst working with members and on their sites. 


Conference Speakers:

KEYNOTE SPEAKER | ALEX STANIFORTH

We're thrilled to announce that adventurer, speaker, and author Alex Staniforth will be this year's keynote speaker.

Drawing on his personal experiences, Alex will deliver an inspiring talk on proactively managing wellbeing and fostering open conversations about mental health.

RYAN RIDGWAY | RIDGWAY MENTAL HEALTH


Ryan’s session will explore what mental health support in the workplace can look and feel like, sharing his personal journey with mental illness. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of mental health, learn how to support colleagues,and discover practical tools and initiatives to improve their own wellbeing. 

LEYLA OKHAI | DIVERSE MINDS


Leyla Okhai, founder of Diverse Minds, will share her expertise on workplace mental health. She will outline practical steps businesses can take to improve mental well-being, including the use of psychological risk assessment tools.

PHIL CROSBIE | EVERSHEDS SUTHERLAND


We are delighted to welcome back Phil Crosbie to this year's Pledge Conference. Phil, a Partner at Eversheds Sutherland working within the Corporate Compliance Team will share his expert knowledge on the legal aspects of mental health in the workplace.
